MINISTRIES
We think that Growth and Service Teams are vital for your spiritual growth and personal development! Our hope and prayer is that EVERYONE at Crosspoint will join a team or two!
Most of us remember what it's like to be without Christ. Praying together, reading the Bible and sharing our stories is part of us becoming followers of Jesus together. That is why we have small groups.
We also want everyone to receive Christ's gift of life. And since we want to constantly prepare to send people into other ministries, it is vital that we show folks how to put what they learn into practice.
All over Smyrna and the surrounding community, you will begin to see our folks meeting over a cup of coffee, sharing a meal or studying the Bible together. We pray for each other and encourage each other in this new life in Jesus Christ.
Growth Teams
There are two different kinds of Growth Teams:
1 - Growth Groups and Bible Studies meet during the week. We encourage you to choose a group and stick with it for a season.
Moon/Welden Group (Milford Chase). This group meets at Jim and Elizabeth Moon's, Sundays at 6:30 p.m. Join them for power snacking, study, and prayer in the Milford Chase subdivision.
Gough/Fincher Group (Smyrna). This group meets near Spring Road in Smyrna Sunday nights. Contact Gaius or Stephanie to attend.
Vesser Group (Mableton). This group meets Sundays at 5:30 p.m. Contact the Vesser’s for more information. Dinner is served before the study
Brogan Group (Smyrna). Meets once a month for study and once for food and fun. Contact Anthony for meeting times and places. The current study is through various parables.
Caputo Group (Marietta). Meets Thursday Nights. You’ll want to talk to Mike for meeting times and places.
Women's Bible Study. Ladies gather at the church for fellowship and sharing and a study through Beth Moore’s “A Woman’s Heart: God’s Dwelling Place.” 9:00 to 11:00 AM. Childcare is provided!
2 - Accountability Groups meet weekly. These are long-term commitments for Bible Study and personal growth and development.
Community Service Team
Christ's ultimate service to us compels us to be reconciled in Him and to each other and the community. So, we also will have a team-oriented service mentality.
Crosspoint sees ministry to others not as drudgery, but as a laboratory for self-denial. The hard work of serving others and giving ourselves to a team project is a good reality check. We want our church to be a place where everyone loves to serve and belong.
Being in a small group or serving on a team is our way of saying, "I belong to Christ. I belong here at Crosspoint." The way we make that a reality is through Groups and Teams.
We'll do a lot of different things to serve - random kindness projects, public park programs, meals on wheels, puppet teams, community music programs, teaching English as a second language, foster care, and a Christmas coffee house - all of them are ways we CAN DO SOMETHING to help reach out to folks where they live.
Community Service Team - Habitat for Humanity; MUST Kids Summer Lunch; Benevolence; Thanksgiving Baskets, and more.
Last year itself was a banner year for community serving.
SPRING 2006 - Strategic alliance with Smyrna MUST (Ministries United for Service and Training) for food pantry, clothes closet, and job training; Benevolence ministries.
SUMMER 2006 - Random kindness projects; public park programs; MUST Kids Summer Lunch; Concerts at The Root; Back Yard Bible Clubs.
FALL 2006 - Teaching English as a second language: Unity in the Community Thanksgiving Food Drive.
WINTER 2006 - Operation Christmas Child.
All of these are ways all of us CAN DO SOMETHING to help reach out to folks where they live!
Service Teams
Serving God, our city, each other and giving ourselves away helps us grow in faith and helps God's Kingdom expand. Everyone has something to give to God, the church and the city!
There are many ways to serve at Crosspoint:
Music/Technology - Sing, play instruments, run presentations and sound.
Connections Team - Welcoming folks, helping new people find their way around and visitor follow-ups.
Care & Hospitality Team - Ministers to the needs of the church family during joyous occasions and in times of sadness.
Set Up Team - Take turns putting up signs and getting the facility set up and taken down each week.
Children's Ministry
Our purpose is to come alongside parents to help our children know God, to see His love demonstrated, and to apply His word to their lives. Understanding the gospel of Jesus Christ, we hold these core values about children:
Core Values & Beliefs:
-
Children are gifts from God (Psalm 127:3-5 & Luke 17:2)
-
Children, like all the rest of humanity, are seriously flawed and need a savior (Genesis 8:21 & Psalm 51:5)
-
Children can grow in grace & use their spiritual gifts for the glory of God(1 Peter 3:18)

Kidspoint - The primary means we've chosen to accomplish our purpose for kids is through;what we call "KIDSPOINT!". Children ages 3 through 5th grade are welcome at Kidspoint to learn from talented teachers, hear from God's word and His-story, and to memorize catechism and scripture. Kidspoint meets Sundays at 11:30 a.m. after the worship services.
Nursery - Nursery is available during the Sunday morning worship service and the second hour education time for children birth through 3 years old. Interactive Bible lessons through Kidspoint begins with children ages 3
and 4.
