WORSHIP

Crosspoint meets for worship each Sunday morning for two services - 9:30 a.m. and 11:05 a.m. - at 4061 King Springs Road, across from Griffin Middle School in Smyrna.

Worship Services:

Worship is the most important thing we do.
God made us to worship Him. We worship God the Father, Jesus Christ His Son and the Holy Spirit.

We assume that some people at every service are unfamiliar with church,so the preaching, praying and worship leading uses everyday language. We try to speak plainly without any Christianized "lingo."

Everybody is welcome at our worship services people of all races, cultures, and viewpoints. Children are welcome and encouraged to join in!

God adopts people into His church as family members, so we treat everybody like a blended, extended family no matter what stage of life you are in right now. We try to treat people with the same grace God shows us.

Our worship is participatory. We want everyone to be involved, so we use some older liturgical elements, but we're also creative, flexible and up-to-date.

Musically, we tend toward an acoustic-rock sound, but we are actively seeking people to help us incorporate gospel and other ethnically diverse sounds. We choose the songs based on what the lyrics say, so you might recognize some older hymns put to some newer music. The main thing is that the music focuses on Jesus Christ.

Communion:

Communion, also called the Lord's Supper or the Eucharist, is the family meal of Christians. What is required to partake of this holy meal? Repent of your sins and believe the gospel of Jesus Christ.  We invite all those who trust only in Jesus Christ proclaimed in the Gospel to partake of this sacrament.

The Scriptures teach that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone - "it is a gift of God" (Ephesians 2:8-9). Anyone who believes may partake in this celebration.

If you do not yet trust Christ as Savior or do not understand what this means,  wait until you understand and believe.  We encourage everyone to stay, pray and consider your relationship with Jesus Christ and His people, the church.

Scripture also teaches that the way the church celebrates communion is important. Everyone who is a member of any evangelical church is invited to "examine himself" and not eat in an "unworthy manner" (I Corinthians 11:27-32). From that admonition, our church teaches that if you are a Christian, and you are living in such a way as to bring scandal to the name of Christ and His church, you should repent or refrain from eating this meal.

Nursery and Kids:

Nursery is available during both services through 4 years old.

Kidspoint classes for pre-K through 5th grade and Crosspoint U, our youth ministry class (grade 6-12) meet during the 2nd service beginning at 11:05a.m.

Children ages 4-6 have a special Children’s worship class during the 9:30 worship service only.

Worship the Lord with your tithes and offerings.  The offering box is located on a table in the front lobby.  Donations are tax-deductible.  Please make checks payable to "Crosspoint Presbyterian Church".

"Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." 2 Corinthians 9:7
