Troy Coons will be preaching in today's service. Troy and his wife Teri have been members of Crosspoint/Encuentro since 2007. Troy serves on staff with Campus Crusade for Christ as the Southern Regional Multi-Cultural Director or something like that. He was raised in South Africa, went to school in Dunwoody and at Georgia Tech. You can check out his video about crossing cultures on our media page. Troy and Teri recently welcomed a new son David into their home.

Intercessory Prayer Group | Meets most Sundays during the 1130 Hour in the blue room. Facilitated by Julie and Dori.

NEW Super 'FREE' Resource Center | Lots of books to borrow or to keep. There are two copies of Barbara Moon's newest book, Jesus Never Fails: Stories of God's Faithfulness available for lending only. Check out the adventure of how Pastor Jim's Mom and Dad left the stability of a corporate job to live by faith and join Campus Crusade staff in the 70's. This may offer insight into some of Pastor Jim's outlook and his crazy ideas about trusting God to start this unique church...

MANTOWN (and Fight Club X) | Usually the third Friday night of each month at Qs house in Smyrna. Important discussions, food and beverages. Why? 'Iron sharpens iron.'

Fight Club X | Saturday August 7 at the Journey Church in Austell. This is a one-day conference 9-4 that looks at the importance of Men on Mission - at home, church and work. With brothers from other churches. Sign up ONLINE only. Cost $20. Includes lunch and donation to plant churches in Georgia!

Ultimate Frisbee | Sunday 330pm at Milford Park.

Softball Team in the Works | Nathan  Welden and Gordon Hwang are gearing up a co-ed team for friends of Crosspoint. We won't have our church in the name or be on a 'church league' team. We will be playing with the irreligious and normal people for fun and inviting our friends. Check with Nathan for details.

Women’s Morning Bible Study | On Thursdays 9:30 am. Every other week is here @ Crosspoint and every other week at somebody’s house. If you are interested call Lisa Payne.

Kidspoint | July Summer Rest | We will take a summer break for Kidspoint and crank back up in August!

Kidspoint Brainstorming and Leadership | We have almost 50 children in our church. WHAT a POTENTIAL! Pastor Jim Moon and some of the elders are going to host two discussions about improving our training/parenting for 1130 hour and throughout the week.

Please attend either one or both - Today after worship and Monday July 26 at 7pm at REV coffee on Spring Road. This is a huge opportunity for MAJOR life change for us and our children!

Helping People Practically

English as a Second Language (ESL) Classes | Now teaching English EACH TUESDAY night at 7pm. This practically helps immigrants and aliens - and helps us serve. New member Justin Tuhus is a fully trained and experienced ESL teacher with years of experience. Interested in providing snacks?? Talk to Hector at the church office.

Friendship Home Repair | Now serving widows and seniors the second weekend (Saturday) of every month. Please mark your calendars. Interested? Talk to Chris Anders or Jennifer King Norton.

Counselor Training Coming this Fall | Info meeting Monday August 16th with Rev. Wesley Horne at the Ryan's house.Interested? Let Kevin or Susan know!

Are you interested in helping people with their relationships, marriages, emotional or spiritual health? Do you have the gift of counseling, mercy, helps or shepherding? Would you be interested in developing better skills for the spiritual gift God has given you? Plans are under way for a local counselor to train Crosspoint people in counseling skills and techniques.

Financial Peace 2011 Plans + Counselor in the Making | Part of our effort to help people practically is to offer Financial Peace University each January-April. If you would be interested in facilitating or leading a small group January 2011, contact Pastor Jim.

ALSO, our own Jan Smith has been accepted into the Financial Peace Counselor Training program and will be ready to help people in our community with improving their lives financially in a biblical way by fall 2010! This is a further extension of Restore Life's vision to help people practically.

Made for Work - Jobs for Life | Our fall plans to conduct a Smyrna 'Jobs for Life' training course to assist people in overcoming the hurdles and roadblocks to gainful employment are 'on hold' until the Lord raises up a ministry co-leader to come alongside Elder Powell Harrison.
