Crosspoint meets for worship each Sunday morning at 10:00 a.m. at 4061 King Springs Road, across from Griffin Middle School in Smyrna. Worship Services:![]() Worship is the most important thing we do. We assume that some people at every service are unfamiliar with church, so we preach, pray and lead worship with everyday language. We try to speak plainly without any "Christian-ized" lingo. Everybody is welcome at our worship services - people of all races, cultures, and viewpoints. Children are welcome and encouraged to join in! God adopts people into His church as family members, so we treat everybody like a blended, extended family no matter what stage of life you are in right now. We try to treat people with the same grace God shows us. Our worship is participatory. We want everyone to be involved, so we use prayers, songs, and other liturgical elements that help us all engage in worshiping God together. Musically, we tend toward an acoustic-rock sound, but we actively incorporate African-American Gospel music, Spanish lyrics and other ethnically diverse sounds. We sing both old and new songs that focus our attention on who God is and what He has done (and is still doing) through the good news of His Son Jesus Christ! Communion:Communion, also called the Lord's Supper or the Eucharist, is the family meal of Christians. What is required to partake of this holy meal? Repent of your sins and believe the gospel of Jesus Christ. We invite all those who trust only in Jesus Christ as he is proclaimed in the Gospel to partake of this sacrament. The Scriptures teach that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone - "it is a gift of God" (Ephesians 2:8-9). Anyone who believes may partake in this celebration. If you do not yet trust Christ as Savior or do not understand what this means, wait until you understand and believe. During communion, we encourage everyone to stay, pray and consider your relationship with Jesus Christ and His people, the Church. Scripture also teaches that the way the church celebrates communion is important. Everyone who is a member of any evangelical church is invited to "examine himself" and not eat in an "unworthy manner" (I Corinthians 11:27-32). From that admonition, our church teaches that if you are a Christian, and you are living in such a way as to bring scandal to the name of Christ and His church, you should repent or refrain from eating this meal. We currently celebrate the Lord's Supper on the Second Sunday of each month. Red wine and white grape juice are served. We encourage families to take communion together. Nursery and Kids:Nursery is available during 10am worship service for children birth through 4 years old. At 11:30, Kidspoint classes for pre-K through 5th grade and Crosspoint U, our youth ministry class (grade 6-12), meet after the worship service.Tithes and Offerings:For our spiritual growth we encourage and train ourselves to give generously. We worship the Lord with our tithes and offerings to celebrate and imitate His generosity! We do not pass an offering plate. The offering box is located on the table in the center of the lobby. Donations are tax-deductible. Please make checks payable to "Crosspoint Presbyterian Church". "Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." 2 Corinthians 9:7 |
