What you'll like about Crosspoint:
WARM, CASUAL ATMOSPHERE We encourage each other to be warm and friendly - to be a church where everyone can fit in. When you visit our church you will see people talking, laughing and enjoying one another. We are serious about fun because it expresses our joy in Christ, and it grows us together as a family.
STRAIGHT FORWARD TALK ABOUT LIFE At Crosspoint, Christ is at the center of everything we do. We know life is a challenge, and we try not to sugar-coat. Our aim is to help everyone find the meaning and purpose Jesus Christ offers.
A BLENDED FAMILY Our church is made up of people from different nationalities, races and backgrounds. It doesn't matter if your background is Baptist, Catholic, or something else, when we celebrate Christ's gift of salvation together, life takes on a new perspective.
REAL PEOPLE WITH REAL QUESTIONS Lots of people who don't go to church have really good questions. At Crosspoint, we love good questions about Christ, His church, and about the Bible. We don't know everything, but we think good questions deserve good answers. Whether you believe in Christ, don't believe, or aren't sure what you believe, you are welcome at Crosspoint.
TEACHING ABOUT CHRIST IN EVERDAY LANGUAGE We are committed to communicating about Jesus, faith, and life in everyday language. We're not going to try to impress you or to impose our beliefs on you. We want to be an authentic church that is as accessible as possible - so that everyone feels accepted and appreciated.
AUTHENTIC WORSHIP Our worship services are a blend of traditional, ancient truths presented in an up-to-date style. The music is fresh and the singing is heartfelt. The preaching and teaching hold up the awesome truth of what Christ has done for us; and His death, burial and resurrection are the central theme of our worship.
KIDS AND YOUTH We care about kids, and we work hard to provide a safe and caring environment for kids and teens. We include older children and youth in our worship, and encourage teenagers to play a role in serving in the church. If you have kids, we know how important it is for you to feel comfortable with the care your family receives.
SMALL GROUPS AND TEAMS We believe that the Gospel is best shared in relationships - that's why we are committed to small groups and teams. Everyone has the chance to connect and to share, to be a part of the family.
SERVING THE CITY We also serve outside the church in practical ways. Restore Life, our partner ministry, addresses the needs of our city and community through financial, educational, emotional, relational and spiritual issues. We believe and put into practice the truth that all people are created in God's image. We invite your support and participation.Interactive solutions and teamwork make a difference.
Ministry Vision:
In order to reach a lot of people, we aren't just planting one church, we want to help grow an orchard of churches. We are called to be faithful leaders who plant a church to reach people...in order to plant more churches that help reach people.
Experience in ministry has taught us that growth requires a foundation of prayer, biblical preaching and passionate worship in an atmosphere of love and dynamic (fun!) community.
We want our church to touch the lives of people in Smyrna-Vinings, South Cobb and Atlanta. We also want to influence education, social justice, business and institutions all around Atlanta, the Southeast U.S. and the world beyond.
What's in a Name?
WHY CROSSPOINT? We picked "Crosspoint" as our name because we want to point everyone to the cross of Jesus Christ where people from every race and tribe and people and nation all come together. We aren't shy about Jesus. His life and death given freely to us are the only way to reconcile all of us to each other and to God.
WHY PRESBYTERIAN? When you visit, our church feels more like a non-denominational church than a traditional, formal Presbyterian church. So why not call it something more generic? That is a good question. Most unchurched people in Smyrna that we asked said that they would rather us be upfront about what "brand" of church we are. We agreed.
By the way, if you are curious about what "Presbyterian" means, it's a Greek word for "elder led"
Affiliations:
Crosspoint is a product/founding member of a regional new church network with big goals to saturate Atlanta and the world with more new, healthy, gospel-driven churches.
Perimeter Church in Duluth and many others in the Atlanta area helped us get started and we have helped start Emmanuel Church and a second language congregation within our church.
Pastor Jim also coaches other 'church planters' who are starting up locally (Atlanta Westside Church, Village Church Vinings, and Village Church East Atlanta) as well as in Wilton Manors FL, Virginia Beach and Sioux Falls South Dakota.
Crosspoint is part of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA).
Current Facility:
Crosspoint Encuentro rents this current location for worship gatherings under a unique arrangement with King Spring Baptist Church on Sunday afternoons and for special events.
